Serving Those Who Serve Our Country
DCUC’s primary mission is to act as the liaison to the Department of Defense for defense credit unions and be the Department’s principal conduit to defense credit unions on military installations, both stateside and overseas. Whether working strategic and operational issues or addressing regulatory and legislative matters, DCUC’s close working relationship with DoD and other industry partners has ensured members of the United States Armed Forces, veterans, and their families are provided financial services in the finest traditions of the credit union philosophy of People Helping People.
For almost 60 years, DCUC has maintained a strong focus on financial education. Over the last 15 years we have released four financial guides, each with a focus on a different part of the military lifecycle: Investing, Veterans and Retirement, the new Blended Retirement System, and a new full lifecycle guide. In addition to publications, DCUC also partners with Military Saves and the Military Family Financial Readiness Roundtable to promote financial readiness to the military community. Beyond these efforts, our member credit unions directly serve on each installation and in their communities to provide financial education seminars, one-on-one coaching sessions, and many lunch & learn programs. Financial education is part of the fabric of being a defense credit union.
The credit union industry as a whole, including DCUC and its member credit unions, have always made Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) a significant focus in everything we do. We believe that all people deserve access to solid, affordable, and safe financial products and services.VISIT DCUC
